Our Mission
The Restorative Education Project is a community of educators, artists, and community members dedicated to the process of humanization through reason, reflection, and restorative educational practices.
Reason
Valuing and exercising the capacity to take information and form logical and contextually astute conclusions while acknowledging the limits of human cognitive processing (i.e. information overload, filtering, and authority); Reasoning in the digital age requires radical reflection and information literacy
Restorative Education
Restoring humanity into the field of education through humanistic education and decision-making
Reflection
Committing to the continual process of looking back to assess oneself and one’s own humanity for the purpose of expanding it
Humanization
Identifying and cultivating the best of our humanity (i.e. critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity); Embracing ourselves and those outside our various ‘tribes’ as human; that is, fallible beings with inherent worth, dignity, and value
